Terms and Conditions of Service

Welcome to eicrreport.com. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between eicrreport.com (referred to as “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the client (referred to as “the Client,” “you,” or “your”) regarding the provision of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) and associated electrical services as well as Minor Electrical Works.

By booking a service through our website or via telephone, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Scope of Work

1.1. The primary service provided is the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), which involves an inspection and testing of the fixed electrical wiring of a property. 1.2. The inspection is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) as amended. 1.3. The service includes a visual inspection and a series of electrical tests to identify any deficiencies against the national safety standard. 1.4. Excluded Services: Unless explicitly stated in writing, the fee does not include remedial repairs, the installation of new equipment, or the investigation of hidden faults not discovered during standard testing procedures.

2. Access and Site Conditions

2.1. Power Shutdown: The Client acknowledges that the electrical supply will need to be disconnected for a period during the inspection. The Company is not liable for data loss or damage to appliances resulting from the power being turned off. 2.2. Full Access: The Engineer must have clear and safe access to all areas of the property, including the consumer unit (fuse box), all sockets, switches, and light fittings. 2.3. Obstructions: We will not move heavy furniture, lift floorboards, or enter cramped loft spaces that pose a health and safety risk. Any areas not inspected due to lack of access will be noted as a "Limitation" on the final report.

3. Fees and Payment

3.1. Pricing: All prices quoted on the website are based on the information provided by the Client (e.g., number of bedrooms or circuits). We reserve the right to adjust the final price if the property description was inaccurate. 3.2. Payment Terms: Payment is required in full upon completion of the site visit. The final EICR digital document will only be released once the balance has been cleared. 3.3. Parking and Congestion Charges: Any parking fees, permits, or local congestion/Ulez charges incurred during the visit will be added to the final invoice unless otherwise agreed.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

4.1. Notice Period: We require at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or requests to reschedule. 4.2. Aborted Visit Fee: A "Call-Out Fee" (typically 50% of the service cost) will be charged if:

  • The Engineer cannot gain access to the property at the agreed time.
  • The electricity supply is topped up via a pre-payment meter and has insufficient credit to perform tests.
  • The property is deemed unsafe for the Engineer to work in.

5. Limitations of Liability

5.1. Testing Risks: Electrical testing involves injecting currents into circuits. While we take every precaution, the Company is not liable for the failure of pre-existing components (e.g., aged light bulbs, fragile dimmers, or sensitive electronic equipment) that may fail during standard testing procedures. 5.2. Damage: We are not responsible for "fair wear and tear" damage, such as minor scuffs to wallpaper or flooring necessarily moved to access electrical points. 5.3. Professional Indemnity: Our liability for any claim arising from the inspection shall be limited to the total fee paid for the service.

6. Delivery of Reports

6.1. Timeline: Digital reports are typically delivered via email within 3 to 5 working days of the inspection, provided payment has been received. 6.2. Accuracy: Reports are based on the conditions found at the time of inspection. The Company is not responsible for changes made to the electrical installation by third parties after the report date.

7. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
